Homeowner Marketplace Terms
Version 2026-07-30.2 · Effective July 30, 2026
Terms for submitting and managing a homeowner project through OttoServ.
Marketplace role
OttoServ coordinates project intake, scope preparation, professional selection workflows, communications, and operator review. OttoServ is not the contractor of record and does not itself perform construction or home-service work.
A professional who separately accepts a project remains an independent business and the contractor of record for that professional’s work. That professional is responsible for licenses, permits, insurance, workmanship, job-site safety, taxes, and legal compliance applicable to the work.
What intake does—and does not—do
Submitting an intake asks OttoServ to organize the information for review. Intake does not assign a professional, create a construction contract, schedule work, authorize entry, approve a price, or charge any payment method.
Any later scope, professional selection, schedule, agreement, deposit, charge, transfer, or payout requires the separate approvals shown at that step.
Scope and estimates
Homeowner descriptions, media, measurements, and AI-assisted observations may be organized into a preliminary scope. Assumptions, uncertain facts, exclusions, and missing information must remain visible.
Any preliminary estimate is not a final quote. A selected professional may require measurements, inspection, revised scope, permits, or price confirmation before offering or accepting work.
Homeowner responsibilities
Provide information you reasonably believe is accurate, disclose known hazards and access restrictions, and do not use OttoServ for an emergency.
Review each later project document before approving it. Do not treat an OttoServ intake confirmation as authorization for a professional to begin work.
Disputes and platform limitations
OttoServ may pause a workflow for safety, fraud, quality, legal, payment, or documentation review. OttoServ does not guarantee professional availability, project acceptance, price, schedule, workmanship, or a particular outcome.
Additional project-specific terms may apply later and must be presented for separate acceptance. No later agreement, signature, charge, transfer, payout, or work authorization is created by accepting these intake terms.
This policy governs the current OttoServ Marketplace workflow from the effective date shown above. Questions or privacy requests may be sent through the contact form or to jonathan@ottoservco.com.
